River Tyne

With the amount of rain / snow we have had recently I expect the Tyne to be running high and likely full of debris. Is it worth fishing this weekend? Anyone got experience of these conditions?

Replies much appreciated

Jonny

even though its still January, small tides aswell, chances are could be slow going.
SEAS may pickup over w/e,so {why not},give it a go @ rap up well.
GOOD LUCK,if you venture out.

Thanks for reply. Its all a question of distance from home and how far you can push it regarding lockdown rules. I only picked the Tyne because its almost on my doorstep. Might consider a trip down to coast.

With all the rain and freezing temp I bottled it last weekend. I will be wetting a line this Saturday though and I'm sure to have an exciting report coming this way soon

Fished Tyne on Newcastle side bottom of glasshouse street 2h up and 1h down and caught nothing. had a few bites but couldn't connect. Wasn't able to get any fresh bait so using bluey / squid and frozen black lug from Billy's . Cold bait plus cold air equals cold hands :(

Still better than sitting in the house:cool: Not a bad place to fish from, at least I didn't lose any tackle which is always a bonus.

Might try a few marks on my side of the river next time.

Tight lines
