river tyne

any body gannin fishin on the tyne in the nxt 3 - 4 weeks coz a want some advice on wat bait nd rig 2 use wen fishin on the tyne

depending on where your fishing the tyne and what species your after rag, lug and a slither of mackeral should get the flatties biting. With flatties you should use a flapper... 2 or 3 hook at 1/0 or even 1 hook size. Crab works too with eel's but not alot of people would fish for them. you've pretty much picked the worst time to start fishing the tyne. If I were you I would get yourself on the pier with some shrimp daylights and a spinner as the weight and spin for the coalies. there all undersize but a nice bit of fun with 3 on preferably a spinning rod/reel so the light gear gives you more enjoyment. Try bouncing your shrimp off the side aswell but you'll loose some gear doing it.

i like to use a two hook flapper with two booms to stop tangles when strong tide which there usaly is. size 4 top hook and size 1 bottum i prefere, catch more on the small hook i find.

Mate, don't take this as a criticism, it's not, but posting in mainly text-ese on here will limit the people who will reply to you. You need to keep in mind that not everyone is of the mobile phone generation, so lots of members will simply ignore posts in that style - it's not that they don't want to help, it's just that it's hard reading at times. No-one here expects perfect spelling or grammer like some forums, but being able to read the posts easily will get you the answers you want. We're all anglers and all out for a common goal and a lot of that goal is helping each other.

Hi Robert.

I have noticed you have put a few threads on this forum about different areas, the best advice i can give you is to find out when and where you want to fish and ask if anyone else is going fishing that day and if they wouldn't mind if you tag along.

Fishing next to someone who knows the area you will be fishing is the best way to start.

i will be starting fishing in a month or so either on roker pier or shields pier.you are very welcome to tag along.

if you read some of the threads in the past you should know who fishes where and just ask them if you can tag along.

rob you can come with me again soon when i go i should be going in a few weeks but remember to bring you gear next time as i can not afford to supply bait and weights as they are keep going up in price as they can come to some sum in the end and rod and reels as well as it does cost some for the line and getting snaged and losing line weights is quite expensive in the end if you talley it up

Not bother. If you've transport then maybe heading further afield at times would be good. Some nice spots up the coast - Blyth, Wansbeck, Druridge, Amble etc are producing flatties and coalies, it's more figuring out when to fish them that is the learning curve that's a bit steeper and local knowledge helps there.
