one of the lads at work caught a seven pound chub in the river wear sunday seen photo nice fish fancy trying it any tips would be appreciated cheers.

I used to fish below the old ice rink on the free strech at durham and had many a good session on the chub with the occasional decent barbel caught aswell.

Cheese and bread mixed paste was a favourite bait but they could be caught on worms and maggots aswell. The best fishing we had was always after dark using a ledger rig and casting over the river near to some overhanging tree's on the other side.
They don't alf fight aswell.

Was always loads of rats about so don't be licking your hands lol.
