Roayal Quays.

Ray, if you think Barney is highly excitable, you'll have to meet Big Tel, my deck boss. He doesn't sleep the night before we go fishing, like you say though i get as much pleasure watching him pull fish in.

Thanks for that Kev, it seemed very quiet when i was down there, i only saw a couple of lads on the top of the dock, i was stood next to the office where the gang plank is.....where abouts is everyone moored looking down from there, maybe someone clever could highlight a google map, so next time i'm through i can look for your boats....:)

Not the best of captures Chris, but gives an idea on myself, Kevin and Rich boat positions ...

Looking at it closer I think rich may be a couple of boats to the left (almost out of shot) but you get the area anyway ....

Thanks for that Norman, now i know where i can get a cuppa when i call down the Quays :D:D.
I'm surprised i didn't spot Stingray, but the old mince pies aren't as good as they used to be.
I was thinking about the freezing over durind the winter, and it's a vast area of water to freeze, much bigger than the pics portrayed. But it still looks a very nice marina, if i'd been closer i would have been in there.:)

i was fishing blyth pier yesterday and there were some canny sweels like. This tanker went out and was gettin thrown all over. Definatley wouldnt be nice on a small vessell lol

Aye I think boating is off for a wee while yet ... :(

The in-laws are visiting us this weekend so we took the M-in-L up the river by boat to the quayside market. I didn’t get much for her there, but came home with some bits from the stalls including a scorcher bottle of chilli sauce. mmm

The sea’s dropped off a lot through the day and looked a lot calmer tonight. A trip out tomorrow is a possibility, otherwise there are leads to be made. Just the usual bank holiday routine.

boat positions:question:now thats something i have never had to consider:exclam: but i can live in hope:D:D is there a book:question:

Me and the missus had a ride through to the Royal Quays today, to have a look around the retail park, she's been going on about visiting there for a while now.
I decided to have a look at the marina while there, and was amazed at the amount of room you lads have for backing out of the moorings. I could'nt see any of the boats you have there i.e Slinky Kate, Stingray etc, but it is pretty big compared to Sunderland Marina. Nice place though and very secure. I noticed a boat which was beside me at Sunderland its called Beautifull Dawn.
A bit of advice though, if you go to the retail park, dont get the haddock and chips from the cafe there, they were terrible :o

Hey Chris, all those brownie points don,t count for squat if you make one mistake and upset her, plus, all this retail therapy with you in tow can become addictive, so next time the sea beckons it will be, "You promised we were going shopping today, I'm sure you love that bloody boat more than me"!:D:D

One thing i've learned Arthur is never make promises you can't keep, luckily for me i have an understanding wife and wouldn't swap her for anything...well maybe a new Merry Fisher...:D;)
I've had the "You love the boat more than me" quote a few times and the answer is " When the sea is fishable, i do";)

You off on holiday again Arthur, this retirement lark sounds like fun.:)

even Cabin Boys get "you love that boat more than me" :D

mine's a gem...wouldn't trade her...cup of tea and a smile waiting for me when I come back bleary eyed and dog tired after a pre-dawn start :D
