rod advice

In the market for a new rod at the mo. Just using my salt xt bass atm for everything but looking for a step up for the winter and longer casts, mainly river, beach or pier work as I already have something stiff for rough stuff. Wanting something nice n light but longer than my bass rod to help with distance to match a slosh 20.needs good bite detection and I know it sounds wierd but I like having at least a bend in the rod when im playing a fish. I dnt want something mega stiff you know. If anyone has a few pointers on what to have a look at that would be great. Preferably something cheapish. Cheers, Sam.

that shakespear looks like it could be a good bet for what I need judging by the reviews iv been reading. rekon I could probs pick one up second hand for 50 quidish too. what is that leeda model ur on about mate. n aint them century rods v expensive?

Penn Powerstick. I have two of them, best rods I have ever had. They are very light weight, good bite detection and you get a good bend with a fish on but they are strong enough to lift a decent fish up the side of the pier. They cast well too and I can get more distance than I could with my previous rods though that could just be me getting better at it of course :) They are on special offer at WSF at the moment for £80 which is an absolute bargain as they usually go for around £99Penn Powerstix Pro Surf 13ft - Sea Fishing Tackle
