rod building

anyone have any experience of rod building ?
thinking of giving it a go but need some information.
do you have to own a tackle shop to be able to buy the gear ? ie:blanks , eyes etc? i take it you have to buy direct from the company that builds the blanks do they supply to the general public ?
how much am i looking at to build my first rod ?
and is it worth the hassel ?
not looking to make a fortune on this , just something i have fancied doing for a while and i finally have a little spare cash to make a couple of rods ( i hope )

send a pm to either stan ( fish fingers ) or Alan ( primo man ) both excellent rod builders and will give you the help you need, there is also another lad who builds rods, but i dont know him personally, but he is from ashington, ( endurothumpers ) and from what i can gather he does a very good job as well and i think he would also give you the help you need mate
