fished the pier last night. blowing a hooligan it was. managed to find some shelter down in the neck end. lucky enough to pick up a small bass, canny flounder and a whitey to keep me busy. dissapointed there where no coddies about. there was plenty of movement on the water, had some qualtiy lug from NETS but nowt codling related doing. there was one other lad on the end who stopped till 12.00 then made his way to the glass centre, he also had a bag of three fish and including a codling. the wind was that outrageous you couldnt really tell if you where getting bites but sometimes you have to get out whatever the weather.

aye, a bass no less. thats the second ive had in three visits to roker pier and the third ive seen overall. strange goings on. i dont remember basss getting caught off there when i was a young'un. must be global warming and arl that.

My mate was out there on Saturday and got whities, coalies, flatties, a 2lb codling and a doggy. It was blowing a gale then but it paid off. I fished the night before and only got a few flatties and whities. It changes day by day
