well what can I say got down to yacht house about 5:30am not much happening from what I was told, anyway set up using pulley rig and was getting plenty of knocks but not a thing hooking, guy who was in corner had a few coaly and plenty of crabs so my guess is all the knocks were the hungry crabs, I was glad the guy next to me never left before he said he was going to as massive seagull decided to fly into my line nearly taking my rod over took some getting it up to the top of fence he was a big git but in the end got it up and tied my line to railings then cut the monster free.
after that it was all crabs I caught.
baits used mussel,rag,maki.

I'm assuming you were fishing the Rathouse, if so why are you using a pulley rig over clean ground? Switch to a 2 hook fixed paternoster (2 hook flapper) and use smallish hooks - size 1 or 2 and I guarantee you will convert more of those little knocks (probably little coalies) into fish caught.

sorry should have said I also used the 2 hook flapper and even tried the famous spoons :) had size 2-4 hooks on diff rigs.
any way lets hope the pier opens soon, get some proper fishing done :)
