Got to the round head at about 7.30 am and fished till about 11.30 am.baits used were ragwort, frozen blacks and mackerel, used to rods -one with a big frozen black lugworm sausage on a Penney rig and the other rod with a two hook flapper.....resulting in 6 undersized flatties(dabs and flounders) and a toddler of a white.Highlight of the morning was watching the pod of porpoises swimming past between 100-200 yards off the round head. Better than blanking and some good craic on the pier with a few of the lads off NESA. How much did that big mouth bass weigh Mad Rob ?

A good few hours fishing for you mate like you say the small stuff is better than blanking any day

Beats blanking any day mate. I decided to give it a miss in the end when I couldn't get any Mackerel in my local Sainsbury's, my last couple of trips out it is the fish baits that have been doing the business.

Hello big fen enjoyed the crack today we had about 30 fish between the 3 of us flounder codling. Coalies. Rockling. Dabs. Scorpion fish. And one whiting all small stuff except the bass which weighed about 1 1/2 lb mate as you can vouch for put up a canny fight lol

Never thought of using ragwort for bait myself, but if you do,and have any
left over at the end of a session, make sure you don't feed it to a horse,
as it's highly toxic, the alkaloids causing liver damage....:D
