Fished Friday afternoon 1300 till 1600. Only managed a whitie and a tommy codling.Saw half a dozen decent codling landed between 3 and 4lb. Went back to fish the next flood tide at 2300. Caught a decent whitie first cast then nowt for a couple of hours. I was using combinations of lug, cart, squid and mackerel. A lad lost a fish of about 8lb on the lift using fresh lug and runnydown so I started using fresh lug, about 4 at a time. I managed to get a nice cod which was just under 5lb. Thanks to the lad who hand balled it up for me. First cod of the year....hopefully not the last!!

well done mate, whch part of the pier were the fish caught? sea end or Into river?

I caught the first whitie next to the bunker, and the cod on the round head. I forgot to say, the only thing in the cods stomach was a half digested whitie, about 8" long.
