fished the flood tide tonight from 6pm til 9pm, stacks of macky coming in, not many on the spinner but loads on daylights, the macky were stuffed with tiny sandeels which probably explains their preference for feathers instead of the larger spinners. i only took my spinning rod down so chopped a set of daylights in half and fished with just 2 hooks, ended up with 60+ macky.
got soaked to the skin though, left my coat in the car.
all in all an enjoyable evening.

nice one mick im going to try seaham in the morning fish the flooding tide dunno wether to take my beach rod and use feathers or spinn with feathers ????

It was a toss up this aftey. Sunderland or Hartlepool. Well i repaired a coffee table for the old fella an he lives in the pool and dropped it off for him, so i ended up on the heugh.
Bought £3 worth of rag at the friarage to fish the tide up.Caught four flatties-all released.
Got to about 8 pm strong wind dropped. Some young un up top pulled in one Macky on a spinner. Got my spinning gear out and gave it a bash. Got one macky and that was it.
Was only one other caught. Few anglers on the pier too.
Water not very clear and could not see any sprats.
Ps my one mackeral was not wasted it went to the resident gull on the heugh young one foot.
Regulars should know him.

Mick.
