fished 6pm til 9pm in the neck end. got around 15 macky and half a dozen herring. started off on the spinner only got 1 macky on it then switched to daylights and started getting fish more regularly, early season probably feeding on small sandeel hence daylights working well the spinner will come into its own in a month or so when the bigger sprat arrive. a nice enjoyable early session for the macky.

just filleted them and as i thought full of tiny sandeel, i prefer using the spinner but daylights will probably work best for the next few weeks till the bigger sprat arrive.

totally agree pure slaughter thats what i do with the daylites but it,s not often i use them prefer the spinners or the fly rod which is even better.

Would agree with Fish Fingers. There's nothing like taking a mackerel on a fly rod with a single daylight on. They fight like demons and if you limit yourself to 3 or 4lb nylon on the tip it makes for a heart stopper of a fight.
