Fished Roker Pier today with my son and his mate.

couple of good Whiting and a Rockling i think:question: No Cod couple of lads next to
us had a few good size Codlings tried allsorts of baits Rag Blueys Mackerel Mussles & Squid Fished the pier from 9 till 6.30 The lads who caught the Codlings,went home and kindly gave us there unused bait Lugs mainly tried the lugs and caught good size whiteys oh well hope we still have time to catch a cod this season

Thanks Topfly we just thought it was a Rockling its back in the sea at Roker waiting to be caught by someone else

had one 2 summers back from beadnell on a float it was 1lb 5 ounces if i remember rightly not seen many around these parts recently tho

records only 1lb 5oz 12grms caught at seaham in the 90s, you digging

Well it only took 3 years 2 months and 2 weeks

bloody hell they took some time to verify it

Aye fame at last eh ? The shore record was broken around the same time the boat one was and im sure it was from northern Ireland . Bangor pier rings a bell and around or just short of the 2lb mark . I tink
