Roker pier 5 lber the barrier

I haven't been out for about a month due to car and rib problems so fancied a few hour tonight from 6 til 10
2 rods 1 with my home made cart and blacks and the other 2 hook flapper makki n muscle
1st cast a nice whiting which went back then about 1/2 hour later a nice rattle and out comes a coalie

Then I got a canny pull down , reeled in slack line and struck eventually got it out of the kelp and as I was the only 1 fishing the barrier I had to put rod down and hand ball it up the side . A nice fresh run codling of about 5 lb

Sorry boys did I say pounds or ouncers I get a bit confused lol an enjoyable few hours and nice to get out not a touch on the cart but will be back out Wednesday night for a few hours will try with the cart again

That fish would weigh 5lb if you catch it again in 3yrs time. Speed the job up and catch its grandma. JOB DONE. Better than a blank though m8. Cod of any size is still a fish lots of people love to catch including me
