A nice sunny afternoon to be out with flat calm water, good conditions to try for a plaice I thought. A lot of people out and a few fishing but I managed to get a spot half way between the second steps and the bunker. Someone who had just left as I arrived had left a pile leftover dead lug and rag on the deck but it wasn't too minging so I added it to my bait box. Other baits I had were nice lively fresh rag, bluey and cuttlefish. I had plenty of action with lots of knocks and a few fish too in the form of five dabs and one of my target species a small plaice. I was hoping for a dragonet too as there has been a few caught lately but none for me today. The fish were caught on both fresh and old rag and also some on manky lugworm. I headed off about 5.45pm pleased with another NESA species point
