Nice session with some good crack and lovely weather. Shame the wrasse didn't show but always tomorrow boys for another wrasse hunt

Poor Cod I reckon; the vent's in line with the rear of the first dorsal fin which is a giveaway. On a Pout it's in line with the front.

Gary :)

Just got in, got nothing after you left. Still a good night though, good to meet you mate.

Just pulled the stinger out - right next to my bollocks! - its killing, gonna have to stop wearing shorts.

Nice sesh toonboy,

Was there myself about 100 yards down from you (spotted the nesa hoodie). I had some good coalies and a lovely pollock on the float. Like you say, a great afternoon to be out.

Well done on the two new species mate, I never would have picked that as a poor cod with it being so skinny but the concensus seems to say that it is.
A canny afternoon out even if the fish were all tiddlers it was decent sport.
Unlucky on the sting Andy.

You certainly are a lucky man getting out fishing so much, looks like a poor cod to me.By the way how's the Sea Anglers rod performing?

i looks more like a whiting to me, its wrong shape four pouting

It's 100% poor cod, I must have caught hundreds of the damn things when I lived on the south coast. Defining feature is the location of the anal vent but they also tend to have a shallower body than a Pout (though that is certainly not a defining characteristic).
