Roker Pier? + Shields

i read in a different thread roker is closed for repairs, im off work tomorrow and want to fish it, just wondering if anyone knows what the crack is? is it open?

p.s fished sheilds pier on sat night 7- midnight, the sea was flat as a witches tit and it was a lovley mild night. only managed 1 small colie and a rockling. pretty disapointing. hope i can get out somewhere tomorrow, im still after my 1st cod!

Anyways, at least you can go fishing, am ****ing stuck in work!

roker pier is closed and it looks like it is going to be closed for a while.loads of damage to the decking and the railing.reports were damage to the lighthouse as well,was down today for a walk and two guys went along the pier and went up in the lighthouse,i could see them on top of the lighthouse looking at the top of the lighthouse and they were there for a canny while.
well looks like shields pier for me for a while.also had a walk along rathouse and nothing catching.

whats the best spots on sheilds pier, im pretty new to sea fishing but iv been to shields a few times and lost a load of gear on snags..

try the small wall or the 44 mark.but there are loads of marks on the pier but some require a good cast,best to ask the locals when you go on.

ive heard roker pier wont open again until well after the year now,it was going to close in march next year for 9 month so some people say it wont open again until at least 12 month,just rumours tho m8.

Dannyboy's rite like, you need a good cast to cover the ground so you can retrieve your end tackle. A cast of 60yds+ should be suffice

Good going mate. Its canny wat a bit of simple info can do. Where'd u fish on the pier mate
