Roker Pier

Just had a walk along Roker Pier. I was surprised it was open with the occasional wave coming over the first steps.

There were about 5 fishing on the Round Head while I was there, and between them they had caught 3 codling, the biggest was about 2.5lbs. I noticed that the bait was coming back almost intact everytime, suggesting that there were no crabs causing havoc. I left the pier at about 4.15pm, so there was still about an hour and a half left of the flood.

Thought there would have been a couple of more fish as seen as the sea has had some movement for over a day. I think tonights flood might well produce some good fish.....unfortunately i'll not be able to enjoy it because I have no bait.

I was on the round head today mate, from about 9am till 2pm. In that time I saw one sized whiteing caught, and also a codling, round about the lb mark. I caught nothing, its been a while since I blanked. I was useing yellow tails and frozen crab.
I'll be out again tomorrow morning for another shot.
