fished last 2 hours of the flood, the sea had dropped right off. had very little to show for my efforts just one decent whiting. there was quite a few lads fishing but nothing coming in, then just before i came off a lad had a ling of 4lb 7oz, nice to see something different caught.

Nice fish,that biggest i've seen off Roker like had several small ones myself,it was desperate on there this morning.

never caught one myself from the boat or shore, that lad must have been freezing, ive had more layers on in the summer lol

He was fishing next to me earlier in the day, I had 5 whiting and a codling all smallish. Saw one codling about 4.5lb caught just before h.w off the front and we had loads of knocks etc..... Heard there was a few 5-6lbers caught during darkness?

it didnt really have a scrap it was rapped up in his trace becos he had a whiting on bottom hook which i believe the ling was after and the whiting rapped it up
