Roker Pier

Went to Roker pier at 3pm today to find it closed, i asked a man in a white van that was coming off the pier why it was closed and he said he had no idea and it had been closed since Friday, thats funny because i was fishing on it yesterday, he was under the impression someone had picked the lock, i asked him who decides to close it and if there was a number i could contact but he didnt know. Does anyone know of a contact number i could call to save me a journey?

it was closed on saturday, i went down and the van was going along the pier to get everyone off, this was because 1 wave went over the pier.

The council is now taking no chances and if a wave goes over the pier it is shut.

This information came from the guys who lock the pier.

During the day you can call the "Roker Resort Office" on:- 0191 553 2828, i used it the other day & spoke to a nice lady who told me the pier was open.
