What's Roker pier like at the minute on an evening? is it shoulder to shoulder yet? Thinking about heading over for a couple of hours on Wednesday evening, but don't fancy it if it is too busy. Lure fishing for Pollack, but might give it a miss if it is going to be hectic.

there is still ongoing work on the end of the pier fenced off, if there is any sign of wind the pier will be closed

fished in yak on Sunday was plenty on there even on end as they must have pulled down barriers and even the ones at bunker just hope this does not stop fishing on the pier

Youl always get the idiots that will spoil it for others.its fenced off for a reason n some people are not satisfied that theyve got the rest of the pier to fish from.they think they gona get more fish with been on drum end.mind boggles.think its bad now mick wait till school hols

You can hop over the wall and walk around the gate and back over again at SSP. Some people do it on the river side but never made much sense to me

there are always the few nackers around if they have pulled down the security fence it just gives the council power to close the pier to anglers.

It has been closed today for how long i dont no but the workman said they have pics of so called anglers on the wrong side of the fence

Was open at 5 this morn toonboy.the water was coming over all way down top half of pier.was a couple of blokes walked up n went straight onto drum end.was talking to them in carpark before the went alomg pier.they wernt kids.was a white van up pier bout 7-30 n may have caught them on end.so the pier may have been closed because of those idiots who have spoiled it for other people.what is it with people on roker pier who think that theres only fish from the end.just hope they havnt spoiled it for other angler n if workmen got pics of them thet made an example of

Spoke to the foreman on monday morning,and he was saying somebody fell from the scaffold last week and the numptys have been burning all the builders timber and smashed the inside of the toilet thats there.seen him taking photos.Old stan who gets on, spoke to him and he said that if anything happens its his arse thats on the line & he wants it shut,if it happens only time will tell.but these thickos will still climb the main gate on weekends.spoiling it for everybody else.as always.

It was closed all last summer for resurfacing and the mindless parasites go and do things like that and get it closed again.now everyone has to suffer because of a few idiots.hopefully someone got pics of these morons who have spoilt it and they are brought to book.makes you wana pack it all in.

Thats the thing though, even if they are capable of thinking...the selfishness knows no bounds - they are not fishermen.

I try and make one macky trip a year if possible from the beach, bag up and thats me bait for the winter. Yes - they can be caught from the beach...they can at Horden anyway, plenty of space on the beach.
But then if you catch some you still get chavs invading your 5 foot of space because that 5 feet is the only 5 feet in which you will catch them you see
