Roker pier

Fished Roker pier yesterday, well I did for an hour, the sea started lifting and coming over and I had the bairn with me so we evacuated the place and went to the rat house, 1 small flattie and a whiting on the pier followed by 2 coalies a small whiting and 2 more flatties from the ratty, I hope the rumours about the forecast are true, should be some decent fish about by Thursday if it's correct.

Aye, fingers crossed because this will be the last chance saloon before it all goes very very quiet until the mackerel arrive.

i checked weather and it was all n/westerlys i thought westerlys were ****e for fishing?

alreet m8 was that yous fishing the bay side so far on .. went on the end wasnt much of a sea on but it started to get naughty so had to leave ..good job i did a few big ones came over just after dont know why they had it open and the thick council have the nerve to put stuff in the papers about getting on when its rough while the gates locked and leave it open when theres a big sea on .. lucky no one was hurt

its a shame we never got these conditions a couple month ago.like the lad said,think this week is last chance t land a biggun,then my gear packed away til summer,gonna skip mackerel and target pollock,bass,wrasse,gonna put the miles in this year

Northwesterly is still classed as an onshore wind, they create swells further up the coast that travel down to our neck of the woods. Any other westerly create flat seas.

could do with a good North easterly blow to see out the season before we start tripping over all those Carling cans on Roker pier and wetting your feet in puddles of p1ss,and rubbing shoulders with every chav with a ten bob mackie rod,Happy days!!

Nah Trev, I was on the round head and the bairns were fishing the bay side of the bunker, the wind was straight northerly so it didn't take long to whip the sea up, it started coming over so it was time to get the bairns off mate.
