friday 7/2/13 hitting pier with new centuary fireblade 13 1/2 foot. never used one before so lets hope theres a big old coddy to haul in. its a 8 1/2 foot stiff tip with a 5 foot butt and have a greys mag on it. has any 1 used the okuma mag for a decent length of time to give me some idea how good they are as i realy like the look of these reels. mt fishing bud (ionlywanacatch1) uses ocuma non mag and this looks a powerfull reel . do i realy need the mag version . any info gladly taken on board . many thanks..............???????

The okumas are rubbish mate, youd be better of saving the extra and getting a penn mag or saltist.

lads i know who bought them , soon got rid , as said save up and buy better , penn , abu , daiwa slosh 20/30 etc .... and dont hit the pier too hard you'll break it

After reading an advert for the okuma mag reels I bought one thinking they were sound!!!!! Bah how wrong I was didn't matter how many times I fannied on with it I couldn't get it to cast it blew up every time it did go out and when it wouldn't during the power stroke the handle would click back around and engage it back into retrieve so I had 10-11ft of line out and a 6oz sinker swinging at my face !!!! Never any good spend a bit extra and buy a good quality penn mag, not the new shiny ones mind they're ****e
