Roker Prom last Friday night, fishing the flood from 8 till 11.

5 flatties all after dark, on runnydown t/w mack and sandeel segment t/w mack. Best fish 26cm and 22cm, rest teaplates and beer mats.

Anyone tried liver as bait, spoke to a bloke the other night who swore by it for whities?

I have heard about pigs liver and one day got some from morisons and sneaked to a corner along the ratty out the way thinking if anyone sees me they will think I`m mad put a bit on with elastic and swear it was barely in the water and I had a little flatty on, it was the only thing I had in a 2hour sesh but it did work.

I told someone else about the experiment and he claimed he seen a woman clean up on whities with lambs liver, mind you when someone told me to put WD40 on yu bait I thought they where mad but others swear it works

I tried lambs liver on roker pier last week & got a few bites straight away. Only had a couple of pieces I pinched before the wife done our stir fry, she thought I was mad. Also tried wd40 last winter & got a couple of small whiting.

Back in the 80's someone told my dad to try raw chicken skin... we only tried it the one trip and didn't get a single knock - but then again I've gutted fish and found allsorts inside them, had some coalies full of sweetcorn one time.
