Due to a lack of Codling I put the Nemesis back in its cover this week, got out the sandstorm and headed down to the neck end of Roker pier,a place i rarely fish due to some of the plonkers i have encountered in the past, anyway had an absolute belter of a session fishing the last few hours of the ebb in daylight i was surprised by the volume, the quality and also the species, pretty much every cast resulted in fish, masses of above average whiting, double shots of flounder, coalfish up to 2lb,dabs,my old man even managed a pouting,i left just before dark leaving my son and my old man fishing in to darkness, once into darkness and fishing the flood tide apparrently the fishing went crazy with double shots of whiting up to a pound an a half, certainly was not expecting such a good session without the codling but will be back there in the near future:)
