Rough ground line

Was thinking of using 35lb line all the way through for rough ground would this be okay as i've always used a shockleader with lighter line?

I use 35 or 40 check your line for scuffs and cut it back if you feel any or you could lose a good fish

Yeah good point, I'll go with 40 to be safe, any advise on which brand of line for strength or will it all do the same job

I use 37lb Sufix Tritanium in clear. Don't like it as much as the gold coloured 24lb I use on my other reels, so I will try gold 37lb next! Should be better!

Avoid 30lb daiwa sensor

Been using diawa sensor in 35 and 40lb for years now without any problems, I can't comment on the clear or orange but one of my mates recons the orange is not as good as the brown, as for the clear I don't know anyone that's used it

I put some on my 2 slosh 30's last week , both was Going well then about 5 casts later on a cast when the weight got about 100 yards out the reels were locking up happened to both of them I kept getting the nests out and trying again bit same thing kept happening and it nacked the line so a just took it off

I have used Sylcast 40 lb on my 9000C for many years, perhaps a little stiff but good abrasion resistance and knot strength.

Used sensor for years now on my slosh 30.. 30lb for rough ground (brown is best, tried the clear for some reason didnt seem as strong) found it reliable and cast ok for me. Recently tried Berkley trilene Big Game 30lb found that a soung line too..

For the rough stuff, I use Sakuma Nite Crystal in 40lb breaking strain, straight through. Does the business, and does it well, really good line and knot strength.

As said earlier though, always check your line at the end of each session, especially near where you have a rig clip or tie your rig on, as damaged/kinked/fraid line will have reduced strength and could lose you the big fish when it comes.

thanks for taking the time to reply gents, as for who mentioned braid it has to be straight mono for me over the rocks personal preference I only use braid on clean ground.

Iv just started useing 40lb braid with a 60lb shockleader and the line flys off (im not the best at casting) i hit alot further with it than mono line
