i have the chance of a second hand ron tomson axellerator 4 -8 oz for 70 quid. looks in ok nick .is it worth the money.

ive only heard good report about them, acept a bad reel seat. You can get them for 100 pound new so mabe offer 60 pound unless in mint condition.

used one for the past couple of years from all the local rock marks and rock marks up arbroath way, cracking rod for heavy / rough ground, its as stiff as they come, cant fault it, iv'e had no problems with the reel seet, these rods were only £100 brand new, lot of rod for little money i thought. (relatively speaking of course).
second hand it's worth what you want to pay, but for £100 you get bit of warranty and a brand new rod!, you shouldn't be dissapointed, especially not when your'e skull dragging a nice cod through the rock and kelp!

An excellent rod mate, I could not fault mine at all, but if I was you pay the extra £30 & get yourself a new one if your budget allows you to, £50 second hand should be the price in all fairness & you want it to be mint for that.

i got one when they 1st came out and said how good they were to some fellow anglers they just laughed and said err! ron thompson crap but how wrong they were even simon chillcott out of century gave them top marks other than a tad heavy ,ive had fish of 8lbs and 9lbs on this rod with no problems at all getting them in the only thing is they have changed the rings on them which are good rings but do,nt take the abuse as the green 1,s [buy it you will not regret it.

There's a Rovex rod out now, very similar to the R/T but a lot lighter, and only £90 brand new. Think it might be called rovex big boss but not 100% sure ;)
