Rough ground rod

Warren,
A bit confused, here :-

Are these YOUR recommendations OR are you asking FOR recommenadtions ???

Sorry asking for advise on what to buy as a rough ground rod .I know the price of the rt is much less but any advise would be helpful.

Warren, Terry Wood\'s Reelsport Response is always mentioned as an excellent choice round about the £250 mark I think. Actually the recommendations are superb give Reelsports a bell.

If you don\'t have 260 odd notes spare for the reelsport which I have seen in action and it looks a great rod you could try a Penn PPT Groundcast. It\'s 14\' 3\", capable of easily hauling huge chunks of kelp out of the sea (as well as easily getting fish up the side of piers). If you can cast well enough to bend it you should be able to fire a lead miles with it. I\'ve got mine coupled up with a slosh 30 and 35lb line. I\'ve never had a snag I haven\'t been able to break out of. It is seriously stiff! Veals sell it for around £150 but I think they cost nearer £300 when they first came out. End of line stock they\'re getting shut of I think.

Glad that\'s cleared up, Warren...lol ;)

I use a KOMPRESSOR SPORT which I bought from one of the lads on here, last year and I\'m chuffed to bits with it :)

About 2 and a half years ago, I bought a rod from ID Fishing in South Shields. They put out their own brand gear under the name \"Shoreline\". I don\'t know if they use them all the time, but the rod is built on a Century blank -and it\'s known as a Century Shoreline.

As far as fishing the rough ground goes - I think this rod is hard to beat - plenty powerful for me - and with a 535 on it - MAGIC :exclam: :o

go for the r/t mate.
i was fishing with a lad at arbroath the weekend, he was using the r/t for :) the first time and he is a well known angler and he was most impressed.
it doesn,t come much rougher than up there.

The RT rod at 100 quid is getting some great reviews, and my mate has one and I like it. Personally I was lucky enough to have got a bonus from work and bought a Reelsport Response with some of it.

To be honest, in those two you\'ve got a Merc and a Ford, they both do the same job, but one has a much much better build quality, might be a better rod I can\'t say, and looks flashier if you\'re a tackle tart.

Terry also does a Blue Thunder which is apparently even more powerful than Response. The response has almost had me off my feet with a mistimed cast so there you go. Barney in TSF said the Blue Thunder was for good casters only.

Hi Warren,i use the RT and i can\'t fault it mate,it comes supplied with a reel seat as well.There\'s a few posts on here where this rod crops up.I was\'nt sure about it at first but its the best £100 i\'ve spent

Well I use a Nemesis plus (old version) and cant fault it at all. slosh 30 on it 30lb line straight through and go skull dragging.

The only rod i would get rid of it for is The Newer Nemesis plus which i had a hold of in Id tackle the other week. Its a beautiful rod, lots of backbone in it and its a lot lighter in weight than the old nemesis.

Mind you saying that My uncle got a Rt axellerator for Christmas and having had a feel of it I cant argue with that for the money either.

THANKS LADS FOR ALL THE ADVISE .
IS THE REEL SEAT ON THE RTA ANY GOOD OR WOULD YOU HAVE TO REPLACE IT WITH I FUJI IF SO WHAT SIZE 28 OR 30
