Where my winter crew on it? last twice i been down 2 flying rats had called the back seat home i am heading down Monday afternoon, need the details off the fuel filters as going to change both of them again since its just a few quid.

Richie, I have some spare filters for a Nanni engine which you are welcome to have if they’re any use to you. They’re an Alco SP-850 oil filter and the fuel filters are Mann WK716 and another ref 914400675, not sure of the make. I bought them for my engine but they turned out to be the wrong size.

For the next service, I’ve bought a Quicksilver 882376 as a cheaper alternative to the primary filter (48 100 780) and it looks to be the right size this time. If come across details of generic filters that can replace the Nanni's, let me know, the other ones I use are 970 603 003 oil filter and 970 313 291 fuel, fine filter.

I waiting until the season gets underway before I change the fuel filters, just in case the diesel bug turns up through the damp months. The annual oil change is due in April which should also correspond with about 100 hours then we’re all set for the Spring.

I always do my oil at the end of the season to remove all the nasty bits from the engine rather than let them sit for 4 months. I am the same fuel filters will be the last thing to do and i hate changing them due to the job of bleeding the air off out the system everytime that takes about 15-20mins, you think you have it all then shudder splutter off

I am not sure of the filters for mine, will check when i get down today but cheers. Be putting the engine batts and coupling back in next week, along with the water pump and seal so i can fire her up and try her, last turned over Oct 11th.

Not lifting this year as it looks brand new paint wor still and two out of the 3 anodes i can see still look 85% there.

Wont be long until we are waiting to entre the lock and praying that the boat following you in, the owner can control, unlike some cases last year...thing is i can still remember being that bad so i let them off

Best one last year was a huge blue power boat, lad came into the dock and when he was trying to get the back end in, gave it forward rather than reverse and bang 5knots into the pontoon, the metal railing at the front looked like some art work you find in a town centre and he painted the pontoon a nice blue....oooouccch

Ow also seen someone come loose in the lock and the flow pushed him side ways into the lock gate before he could fire up the engine, that did some damage, would have been worse if the tower had not closed the inner gate stopping the flow.

Beats being shattered all day thou and feeling like crap at night

You still cant beat air show day for fun and games in the lock, 14 boats in at one point last year i was tied onto a boat and 2 boats tied onto me, same back and front and along the wall...joy.

Yer i was down today and cast my eye over everything, done well with the bad weather so far, so fingers crossed 6 weeks time she will be fired up and running smooth and then its weather watching for them west winds
