Re the Wayside Flower ,around the same time we also went to Amble to see the Wayside Flower, she was a bit neglected and we could not get the Gardner engine to start .The boat was rigged for fly shooting with coils of ropes piled up on the deck.Couple of years later it arrived at Hartlepool owned by a lad called Franky Bergen and was rigged for trawling ,don`t know if it ever took anglers away.

hi rod its a pity the harbour boats did,nt do wrecking years ago the likes of the toiler and was the other boat in the middle called the osprey. hows the marina coming on never been down the docks for ages must have a look. john

I could be wrong but think the wandering star went over to Ireland and is back at Hartlepool recently and running as a charter boat again, by John who had maggie may and esk star.

Could be the same boat ? ( 10mtr aqua star )

The Marina looks just about finished John, trouble is Lumsden and Carrol have pulled out and the council have not yet got another company in to finish off,Nothing been done for probably 6 weeks now.Knowing the council it might be open for next summer.

just looked in an old diary and came accross sweet chariot from blyth skippered by george turner and the boat from amble i was thinking about was the nobles

and just come accross the boat called the patricia.

these boats were in my diary dated 1984 still got there phone numbers.

what about silver scales was that not an amble charter ? skipper john?? roberta p amble or berwick ?and actually got photos of fish on the patricia all circa 84-85

First boat I ever ventured on was skippered by a Colin Roll boat was called The Petuchi (not spelt correctly) out of the Tyne, his crew was a great lad (deaf) always making tea handing out biscuits always getting the P*ss taking out of him by the skipper.Always came off that boat with a smile fish or no fish.

the boats i was interested in realy was the two wrecking boats out of amble two trawlers i believe coquet herald was definately one and the other one has been mentioned on previous post.

i was interested in the name of another boat that used to do realy well although i wanted to talk about wrecking boats i thought this one the nobles should have a special mention as he did exceptionaly well years on on the hard ground you had to book well well in advance to get on his boat proving he was that good. john

the nobles was a trawler,skippered(possibly owned)by rodney burgh(spelling:question

at that time i beleive he was cox of the amble lifeboat and i beleieve he is now the launch master for the amble life boat:exclam::question:

if alf reads this he can can confirm or correct:D

Jim Turbo brought the Roberta P down from Berwick and had it moored across in South Shields, nice Lochin if I remember.

i remeber the the lad that ran the roperta p 'mark' he ran the starburst now which is the misstress good skipper from the tyne a few years ago. the roberta was a lovely boat.
