s.s pier kicked off?

Does anyone know if you are forced to leave the pier when the gates shut at 8.30pm? You never used to follow by the words of "well if your staying it’s at your own risk, I told you" then he would walk back after kicking the kids off.

Just wondering if things have changed since the police incident...I am asking because I am planning on fishing Thursday night but would not arrive at the pier until 7.30pm and if we got kicked off at 8.30pm it would be a waste of time really.

i fished there last thursday till after 9 i never got kicked off.. if i remember rightly the seas were raging when the lads got moved on by the police!

You could always just walk back on if you got kicked off. They might just have to make sure you're off to cover their own backs but wouldn't bother watching and stopping you walking back on. I don't think we're forcast big seas anyway so you should be fine.

nope the forcast is for small 2ft swell..

Just they close the pier at 8.30pm every night regardless if the sea is big or not and always walk along to make sure no one is lcoked on the pier that has gone for a walk.

Few years ago they used to wait until you had packed up and kick you off but they stopped that when the pier man changed. The one from last year used to warn you and kick all the kids off but leave the fisherman (adults) on the pier.

iv done a few late nights on shields and have never been kicked iv fished till 3 in the morn i was on one time and the police helicopter shone its light all the way up the pier and around the end but we were not kicked off the sea was flat at the time so they might have just been checking the conditions good luck for thursday night you should be fine

Will probs see you there.. I'll be the one trying to work out how to cast lol pick up my new rod on thursday and have to remember how to cast with a multiplier sure i'll work it out though.

Where abouts were you planning on fishing?

I will be fishing from the south east corner off the end from 2hrs up to high with spinners and daylights, then i will have 30mins with red gills on the south facing wall next to the blocks...then at high water i will be at mark 44 using bait for the odd bite i hope.
