Fished from about 7 til 2. Mix of the blocks, rail end and 1st gate.

Had rag, crab and runnydown. A few little bites, but no fish at first then i had a huge take at the blocks, rod bouncing like mad, I held the rod up and the fish was pulling hard, proper bend in me tt match, but typical I was also snagged, I tried moving up n down pier a bit but no budging, fish was still tugging like mad when the mainline snapped  god knows what it was but Ive not had a bite like that before. (was on crab n runnydown)

Managed a small coalie, and also the weird fish in photo (any ideas) both went bag in.

On a side note, and I dont like to whinge but I was dissapointed that the pier was absolutely stinking off **** from 2nd gate area up and there was discarded line all over the shop. How hard is it to **** in the sea? or wrap line up and take home, or even wrap the line up and put it in the bins along the pier?

Yes a butterfish. I've had loads when having kids out rockpooling but never caught one on rod and line, well done as I bet most other anglers never have either. Not even sure if there is a shore record but they're usually no longer than your hand out of the rock pools so you might have even had a shore record??
