S/Shields pier 23/9/06

Picked up my new rod (reelsport response) this afternoon and was itching to give it a try, so set off for the pier with the kids in tow.

While they were happy catching coalies, I wasn't getting a nibble, baits coming back untouched, excellent start with my new rod I'm thinking, then last chuck and got a 2lb 9oz pollack.
