I had a ride over south shields today, i got there about 5.30. i got there to find one lad bait fishing on the small wall who'd only had a few undersize fish. i was using daylights and various tinsell traces. after hoping to stock up on macky for the winter all i could manage was 3. i also managed a undersize codling on the tinsell which went back safely. there was a huge shoal just out of casting range, there must have been 40-50 gannets and terns diving into it, amazing to watch. highlight of the morning was watching a+pod+of+about+50+dolphin's+swimming+up+the+coast.+canny+morning+but+shame+about+the+lack+of+macky.+cant+win+them+all.
