Safe fishing for my kids

Hi all, I wondered if anyone knows of some safe fishing spots where I can take my 9 and 5yr old kids. I usually take them to Amble prom but at the weekends it's murder with all the boats coming in and out (and they all seem to make a beeline for the fishing lines:mad: ). Thanks in advance.

Blyth Harbour or Pier is very safe, probably more chance of a fish from the pier to keep them interested, the fishing is generally poor at the minute however its catch 22 with kids, ideal conditions is a gale from the East with a massive sea rolling in  ........not really suitable for kids though.
Another nice place is Alnmouth Harbour, gets busy on a weekend with daytrippers but the fishing can be productive for the kids, plenty of flatties, same applies to the mouth of the Wanesbeck :)

If the tide is anywhere near high, about 3 hours up and 3 hours down,, you could always fish into the little shore at Amble (right side of the pier.

Plenty of flatties, and no boats.

hello m8
take them up to scotswood business park you can fish out of the back of your car and can get some lovely big flounders there, 2 hours before high water and 1 hour down. 10 yards out.

hope this helps

Thanks for the tips lads, typical though they've both got colds so it's off for this weekend. I went to Blyth Pier yesterday, there for 4 hours - number of fish caught = 0, number of bites = 0. Terrible fishing at the moment.
