Hi Mick and welcome to NESA. I would go with what Ali says, High shore is a canny mark with a good chance of a fish.
If you want to be on the sea, you could do a lot worse than try the pumphouse at the south side of Cullercoats harbour. It is a high water mark and best to have a look along in daylight first to see where you are fishing.
There is also the Oxfauld gulley on the south side of King Edwards Bay. Your fishing from the prom and it is fairly well lit too, handy for keeping an eye on the little fella.
All of these marks are quite safe, fishing comfortabley from behind a railing. Sorry I can't guarrantee the fish to go with the marks too though lol.
