went to collect mrs happy face from silksworth sainsburys zero out of 10 for their efforts to clear paths for their customers of which their were plenty,i might add this aint a corner shop struggling to make a living, and should have done better

Morrisons in Whitley Bay are no better. It does not take a "rocket scientist" to sort it out. Simply hire a plough on night shift to clear the lot. Now how easy was that - do you think I should patent the idea !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honest to God some folk/organisations would be dangerous if they had half a brain.

Asda at Blyth cleared the car park but the prats that did piled the snow on the edges.
So unless you want to walk to the end of each row to get access you face trying to get a trolley over a 6 inch wall of frozen snow.
Why not simply give over a couple of spaces and pile the snow there

this is right my mate owns a shop as weather is act of god if anyone falls on the snow its no ones fault but if they slip on ice because you cleared the pathway your at fault

Yeah because the pathway probably isn't their property but I thought the carparks at Morrisons etc. were owned by them. Is there any lawyers on the forum that could clarify this issue?

Advice on Northumberland County council site for home owners states that everyone has to take due care when they are walking and it is "unlikely" anyone could be sued.
Only way that any org could be blamed is if they cleared the snow in such a way to cause injury.
