we used to get then on the north side of the tees, sometimes a couple of feet deep.

appartently they get pushed up into fresh water whick knocks them out.

I blame Sunderland fan's no idea why just i am bored :)

Seen it before but not for many years and if i remmber right it is to do with lack of CO2 in the water causing them to drift and be carried onto the beaches.

Are they sandeel or Launce??

Illeagal discharge at sea.

Illeagal discharge at sea.

Could be that oil additive they are using in ships and flushing out at sea,its what got those sea birds last month.

talking to a few lads being told sandeels are washing up on the beach as far down as sandsend about 20 miles south ov redcar not sure how far north:(

Owt on the news? If it was pollution it would he reasonable to expect to see a mixture of species washed up. Perhaps its something theyre particularly sensitive to? Do they die after spawning?
