But the fishing is rock bottom!

Up at 445am today, cooked breakfast and a 40 minute drive to Sunderland to meet up with Peter and finally get our first charter of the holiday.

I would like to say the expectations were high, but how could they be after such dreadful reports over the last few weeks?.

Anyway we left the marina at 7am and passed the weirdest ship. What are these towers for please?

We then steamed north for about an hour to our first wreck. Just six of us fishing today, including david.northeast. Good to meet you mate, but why you had a Walnut Whip Easter Egg as your lunch, went right over my head!?

Fished this and numerous wrecks, moving steadily northward but all to no avail. The natives were getting anything but restless!

The day had started with a cold breeze but by 1030am it had settled, the sun came out and it was rather pleasant......Still no fish though!

Things then got a bit out of hand. "Avert your eyes Lynn!!"

"It's OK Mark, I am too far away to see anything!" "But Lynn, you are only six feet away!?" "As I said Mark, I am too far away to see anything!" :) Sorry David!

Anyway, I digress. Peter spent loads of fuel trying to find the fish - we were 12 miles out at one point - but nothing.

Well actually of the six rods out, one Whiting of 7 inches was caught all day. Now anyone with even a modicum of class would never even consider gloating about being the only angler to catch a fish, especially with one so small.

However, Lynn has absolutely no class whatsoever, so gloated all the way home in the car!!

Thanks for the day Peter, but Lynn asks - if you won't put a door on the cabin or on the toilet - can you please put up a rail and a wee curtain !! :)

Anyway I met Steve Harmison in the pub, so I am happy!!

Tough luck m8 was hoping against all the odds you might find a few, especially with your luck so far.

Fingers crossed for your next trip out :)

Same all over at the moment.

That boat was in the Tyne last year, i did know what it was but in short them pillars aka legs raise the full boat out the water and turn it into a type of dry dock, i cant remember if this is for other boats to go in or something but it is a one of a kind in its class i was told ast year

The boat is for wind farms, it will carry the blades and other parts out to sea, drop the legs for a stable platform and begin building the wind turbine.

The skipper tried his best, you cant ask for more than that.... you tried your best, you cant ask for more than that....Lynne tried her best and it worked...:D:D , it might be a whitey but she caught a fish...:p

Hope you get among them before you go back Mark, when is your next trip
