Satellite Installers???

I'm after a motorised dish, I could probably run the cable and fix the bracket myself but not sure about setting the dish.

I did mine myself mate, 1.2m dish fully motorised, without any previous experience.

You need a decent pole (scaffold) and mount, it has to have a goodline of site to the south and be bang on straight.

Once the dish is attached and facing true south, its fairly simple to adjust to see the full arc of satellite.

Dont know if you know the place but satellite superstore in Rowlands gill has plenty of info on their site.

Ive also done a mates, smaller dish, so can help give pointer where needed if you wish mate

Keith i have used Jeff how owns acusat in north shields for the past 20 years, what he does'nt know is not worth knowing about satellite instalation is not worth knowing

Cheers lads,

I did ring Acusat Bob, Jeff seemed a canny bloke but his quote was a little more than I can afford at the moment, I'll possibly just hang on till next season for the football starting again.

Gary, I'm in two minds whether to have a go myself, what do use to get the thing pointing south?

Sir Niall, if you're looking in, I fully intend to renew my season tickets even though the price has gone up from £500 to nearly £800 for me and my son. :( The satellite is just for away games :D

Setting up the pole etc is dead easy mate.

Yours or next doors sky dish will give you a rough idea of which direction you need to be pointing.

Ideally you want clear sight to the south and 30 degrees either side, sky dish will be point at 28.2 degrees east of south.

I have a long scaffold pole, and its bolted to me wall with 5 good quality external bolts, you get them from b&q etc.

loads to go through, but drop me your email address via pm and i'll give you a few more ideas. ;)
