This winter season 2011/12 proved to be pretty good for most members, thanks largely to the numbers of whiting around this year. On the downside, the number of codling being weighed in was seriously down on previous years, with several struggling to bring a single codling to the scales. However, thanks to the whiting, most comps saw a very good proportion of members weighing in, despite the generally poor conditions that prevailed on many of the match days.

The total number of fish caught this winter was 443, comprising in the main of 290 whiting, 78 flounders, 39 codling and 20 coalies, plus dabs, bass and even a LSD & mackerel.

This year's overall champ was Phil Smithson with a total weight of 61lb 6.2oz
