Here's the result from last night's match, expectations not matching the good looking conditions:

16 fished low tide with a nice NE swell, 8 weighed in 13 fish, all codling.

1st Kev Moffatt, 3lb 5oz, 2cd, whitley beach
2nd Phil Smithson, 2lb 15.5 oz, 2 cd, cullercoats & whitley beach
3rd John Chisholm, 2lb 12oz, 2 cd, Hartley & Blyth Beach
4th Iain Galbraith, 2lb 10oz, 2 cd, whitley beach
5th Steve Alexander.2lb 9.5oz, 2 cd,Hartley & Blyth Beach
6th Nicky Robson, 2lb 7oz, 1 cd, whitley beach (Heaviest fish)
7th Mick Roper, 1lb 8oz, 1 cd, Blyth Pier
8th Paul Roper, 1lb 1oz, 1 cd, Blyth Pier

well done lads,seems the fish have disapeared despite the good conditions. davy.

I haven't heard the full result Davy, but I think a few more fish turned up at Blyth last night in the sea league match - think the Whitley beach zone was pretty poor still though. Just been down for a few chucks on Hartley Island and lots of little bites every cast but nothing would hook up - I'm guessing they were just small poddlers pecking at the baits:(

i fished stoney bottom last night also a few others on longsands last night fishing the sea leauge, lad on boiler had 4 codling coalie and poutin for 9lb odd and was a 7lb bag from slaty gut.

seen another decent cod brought in from the end of skeer at stoney bottom

Good to know, as Tynemouth hasn't really produced anything yet this year:thumbup:
