You're probably best off using a plug-in rather than trying to mix it in. Dunno what you're editing in, but Izotope's Vinyl is brilliant, free and available in just about every format.

I'm editing in Premiere Yorkio - just need a little gramophone / crackly record buzz track to age the presenters voice in line with the old film look - I've got Encore but there's no preset "old fashioned voice" effect m8

How about in Soundbooth? (I thought they were all supposed to be integrated - or is that just a CS3 thing?)

If you like I can knock up a selection pack of vaguely irritating crackles and hums you could use as a background. Then you just need to EQ the jesus out your presenter - basically, get rid of all the top end and all the bottom, leaving just a tinny little bit in the middle! And compress to taste.
