Sea Fishing Bait/Scent Feeder, has anyone tried one?

Hi all, a bit new to all this Forum stuff,
I have for some time been playing around, modifying, experimenting and developing my own home made “all in one sea fishing bait/scent feeder grip leads in both Uptide and Breakaway”, with very interesting results!!!!!.
Anyone who has used or is using a swim/bait feeder in sea water or wanted to know all about it is welcome to contact me as more than happy to enlighten you with my idea’s.
Will try and post some pics soon,
Looking forward to your comments.

Welcome to the forum mate :)
I havent tried the swim feeder technique aboard the boat, but dont see why it wouldnt work...
I did however tie a carrier bag with mackerel in, onto the anchor to create a scent trail while uptiding......I blanked :D

I originally used my own design swim feeder pod directly attached to my trace before I made the all in one lead I fill it with my own recipes of a paste like mix with specific ingredients i.e. Squid, Worm, Herring, Cat Food, Carp Boilies, Mackerel, Crushed and mashed Crab, Mussels and also a foam filled pod that I inject with various flavors of fish oils to attract a specific species that I am targeting, primarily as a slow scent discharge attractant method flowing over my own hook bait, not to feed, but to attract the fish. Bags attached to the anchor will work but not directly over your individual hook! far to random.
Even if you have or have not heard of, or used a feeder maybe its time to think seriously about it, the theory is simple, when fishing tidal flowing sea water from boat, pier or beach most species if not all will highly depend on a scent trail to feed and to locate your baited hook, even a heavy cocktail baited hook will only give of a small, short scent trail for a short amount of time; when I use my all in one, grip lead, bait / scent feeder, I do at minimum quadruple the volume of scent and achieve a much more effective, slower and larger scent discharge trail for much longer than from my hook bait alone.
Looks like I need to post some pic's so you can see the lead.

cant see why it wouldn't work but heard of loads of stories of fish just picking up the swim feeder and doing off with it until you strike, which obviously results in nothing. after all they are cod not roach ;)

like yourself i believe their is a place for swim feeders in sea fishing, i have just ordered some from an online supplier which will remain annonymous until i receive my full delivery and then i can post my thoughts on them.

I had a guy on the boat saturday he was useing one stuffed with lug, cart, mussle, he was the only one who walk off the boat with 4 cod to bout 4lb, So could be something in it,

Used an onion sack with lots of crushed muscles in it, weighted down with a couple of window sash weights dropped straight down from the stern of the boat, lifted time to time then drop your rod gear just down tide of it. certainly keeps the fish interested.

When I first starting using this method I had the same problem, however it only showed me that the method actually worked, that's why I now use the mushy pre made by myself paste and the oil soaked foam filled pod so it acts as an attractant scent discharge rather than a feeding Pod, the other thing is if the pod is on the trace it will register as a bites if the fish is playing around with the pod and that's why I designed an all in one lead, the pod is not connected to the trace anymore but part of the sinker now. The other thing is the size of the pod is important, to small and yes it could be gobbled up and then spat out, to large and you may as well attach a rubby dubby bag but try casting that! I have found the size pod I use is big enough but not to small and that they do work very well in any flowing tidal water and especially when up-tiding from the boat.
I think a photo would explain my design a lot better so when I get back to work on Monday I will take a couple of pics and upload for you all to see.
In the mean time thanks for all your comments and keep them coming as most interesting and appreciated.
