Love seahouses. Its heavy ground with plenty of kelp so heavy gear is needed, rotten bottems etc. Fish the skeers behind the south pier although I have had fish from the skeers behind the the north pier to but these are a bit tricky. You can also park by the golf course and fish north sunderland point. You want it flat as a witches and crab is the order of the day for the redduns.

Hope this helps.

i prefer fishing off the south breakwater on a flooding tide, use your beachcaster with a crab bait casting towards the farne islands, had red cod up to 6lb, wrasse to 4lb and coalfish up to 4 1/2lb. you can also float fish on the breakwater for coalies, wrasse and the odd pollack. best after some settled weather in summer with a calm sea. don't fish the breakwater if there's any sea on.

the only trouble with fishing the south pier is at weekends you have loads of diving boats and and trip boats circling round the harbour waiting there turn to pick up there passengers to go to the farnes.as nicky says far better to fish the skeers behind the pier and in front of the caravan site its quite easy fishing if you follow his advice. davy.

South of the pier the hole area is nice and kelpy perfect for summer codlings, as topbananna said you want it flat calm clear water, fish 2 1/2 hours either side of low water crab being the bait

thanks lads i think it will be some time in the begining winter months gonna use 5/0 pulley rigs with rottem bottom and take squid mussel and maybe a few crabbies

Hello Whitewater,
I love Seahouses and Beadnell, so much so that I have a static caravan on the Seafield site. I work continental shifts but when I'm on my days off I'm usualy up there.
If you let me know when you'll be there and if I'm up at the van I will spend some time with you and your Uncle and I'll take you around the marks....there are loads of shots in the short stretch from Beadnell to Seahouses, mostly low water shots but a there are a few high water shots too.
Seahouses is a handy base for a trip to St Abbs and also to some of my favourite winter marks at Sugar Sand/Howdiemont and Newton.

Regards Ian

Apologies for just jumping in, probably end up headin up there during the school holidays with the little one, what's either of the piers like for spinning etc?? Or are there any marks round there to give it a try??
