I know we spend money on our gear but the pier toll could work? Cheers Davey. Its pie in sky, but wouldnt it be good to walk onto Roker pier or any other local pier and not see the crap we have mentioned. Responsible sites like this, members could get free passes or cheap rates, people could still use piers without wading through daylight rappers and old tackle. Room for thought and a good debate lads spot on.

Regarding being unworkable then so is freshwater licencing really, but the EA target hot spots like tyne, coquet, wear etc even though it is law to carry a licence for fishing in yer back garden pond. Probably 90 odd percent of sea angling is done on piers and for our region it would be the likes of shields, roker, blyth etc. so the same methodology would apply by targeting these places.

they could speak to us, find "hot spot" (piers) and take it from there, it would be a start, it`s to late for somewhere like torness, but a think something should be done.
remember lads, it`s an opinion site......!

great idea permit 2 fish all piers policed by the council 80 quid on the spot fine if caught thay have camaras with em now so not giveing your name wont work when the council start counting the money in fines thay will b as keen as thay are with parking cant come soon enough

from what i read on here and other sites its getting worse every year u never c a copper on a pier not much fun 4 familys fishing next 2 pee heads the stink ov wacky backy pee dead fish etc may b its the only way but every 1 should b able 2 fish safely with out the numpties keep the permit 4 piers breakwaters only then fish the beaches or rockmarks free simples

totally agree m8, walked down the other day, it was totally discusting, as av said, it will get closed.
a fish blyth pier all year round, and av never seen it so bad.....!

not quite sure whats its like up your way mr cod but we have the south gare breakwater some days its like the local tip even the life rings are checked cause some moron chucks them in happens every year even heard that the Port Authority are on about stopping fishing on there if there was a better way then love 2 hear it

life ring`s at blyth have been pinched that many times they just stopped replacing them.......!
stupidity....!
my m8 would rather drive al the way up2 eyemouth for a bit spinning.
