Hello lads just got in from a night at the blast beach. Never fished this before so did not really know what to expect. Codheed (ian) caught the one and only fish-a lone whitie. It was hard work-fished two rods each. Bait used runny, peeler (thanks lads from the seaham compo for leaving some). Rag,razer, mackeral, squid.
Thought it might have turned something up in the dark. But the sea was as flat as a witches t-t.
Heres Ians whitie.

And heres me almost at the top of the stone steps (ready to collapse) on the trek back to the motor which i had put in an industrial estate about 2 mile away from our mark.

Steetly is a breeze compared to this marathon.
We also lost quite a lot of sinkers, leaders etc on rocky parts of the beach. Think we know some better spots now on the beach.
Looking forwards to getting back on Steetly.

Mick.

its a canny trek along that blast beach from where ya park ya car , would be nice if there was a bus running along there every 20 mins:D:D

Me and eddie t were on the hall beach last night left about ten it was bloody hard work eddie had three ytings i had nowt we like to fish the hall we were crabed of loads of the little s***s about

We walked down the steps. Spoke to a lad fishing to the left of the big rock. went along to the left about 70 yards. Snag city on some rocks.
We then moved to the right of the rock approx 3/4 way along before you hit the cliff at the end. This looked popular with the locals. It was lit up like a xmas tree during the compo. Still snag free for me but ian lost a couple of sinkers.
I had my old 7000 in the box with 30lb rope on. This did the bizz. A hard knock reel for a funny old stoney beach. Glad i kept the old work horse.

Was not fussy about leaving car on the prom when dark. But it is a long walk from the new built industrial site. Car was ok but not much in the new site.

I was going to rejoin last week but the clubhouse was shut. Mick you need to get on the North pier mate, once you fish there you wont go back to Steetley.

i must admit i was less than impressed with the blast, its a barren place with no signs of anything a fish would want to eat, like the surface of the moon.

think thats why it was used as the set for aliens 3 :D:D

it was fun standing next to sigourney weaver in the cue at the pit canteen when they made the film there :D:D:D

I heard that story about the tv set up. Next step to fish the pier.
Ian dip into your wad and get joining-need a couple of passport photies.
Club house open mornings till 12pm. You can also get a bacon sarnie and a cuppa.

Mick.
