it was changed at the meeting on thurs night , as a lot of members said they would not be able to fish as they go drinking on boxing day night and the original times were to late for them , we changed the times but it was to late to notify the angling corespondants before it went to the papers . sorry if this confuses anglers but it has been done to try and satisfy as many anglers as possible . happy fishing .

the boundries for this comp are the club boundries , north end of hendon prom to the saddleback rock at hawthorn hive . there will be optionals on the day , pairs £1 each ,sealed weight £1 and heaviest bag £1. all optionals are paid out 100 per cent , pairs 60 / 40 and the sealed weight and heaviest bag are 1 winner each . any further info phone the club on 0191 5810321 , club open most mornings after about 1030 . slack lines as a tight one means your stuck in the rocks .

i remember fishing this comp a few years back, it was lashing down, freezing and howling gales, caught nowt but a tongue lashing off the now wife for playing out on boxing day! Still enjoyed getting out and getting shot of the xmas day hangover!

seaham boxing day open

30 people fished the boxing day open with 10 weighing in 12lb something
the heaviest being a codling for just over 2lb which took first prize & heaviest fish, sealed weight and the pairs...but me n me mate got second pairs ...whooohooo a wopping £16.30p..lmao
