Ok i am joining Seaham club as soon as i return my form, i know we have a few members on here and one of my work mates has been a member for years.....

Just needa bit of info....is it a safe pier, i.e would you take children (members) on the pier?

What is the parking like, is it safe to leave and expensive car?

Also what parts fish best for what species...any advice would be great

Thanks in Advance

the pier has no rails and is uneven ,but as long as young member is supervised it is safe ,junior members must be with senior member .park at the top of docks or now in car park between coop and new club . we are in the new club now . there has been no probs with cars around this area .fish at the moment is the odd coalie , plaice and flatties ,odd codling and hopfully soon maccy, best bait at the moment rag worm , runnydown for flatties and crab for coddling and coalies .

Well a couple of mates are in the the Seaham club and speak highly of it, it also means i have 1 more local pier to fish in the summer and winter.

Cheers for the info lads, fishing the pier will be alot less hard work than fishing the only other mark's i fish in Seaham, hill 60 or bottom of the ramp lol.

My main concern was for the car, as it is worth abit and ehard alot of cars being done when people fishing hill 60 and from what i seen the pier parking was not that good. Never looked at the co-op parking so might have a trip down n take a peek.

if u r bothered about your car getting stole or what ever try the winter fishing down hendon u can drive on the prom and fish right next to your car really good and easy especilly for any disabled anglers out there

Sounds a bit mercenary but I keep meaning to join just to get access to the pier. Is Seaham not one of the longest running and at one time had the biggest membership or something out of all clubs in the universe? I think the beaches down that way are every bit as beautiful as those in Northumberland and just as productive on their day. Is the Seaham Badgers thing to do with the club as well? Do androids dream of electric sheep etc.

Night fishing at Hendon, brings back some memories.

Fire works, burnt out cars rolling at you from the cliff top, motor bikes blasting past, fighting...ow i remember hendon alright :)

Bloody good fishing spot before they filled most the prom with stones and stopped you getting on the wall (as easy), had some good fish from that mark and my biggest bass of just ver 4lb.

I think i will have ad rive down Seahm this Friday and take a look around before handing in my form.

Cheers
