Seaham North Pier 24/01/11

Arrived 3:30pm only one person fishing, bit blustery so decided to fish the end next to the drum so that I could shelter on the steps. Had two rods, one up one down clipped with rag/macky and rag/squid and the other standard clipped down fished with runnydown. Even though I changed my bait regularily did not have one bite, bait was coming out untouched, 8pm the wind picked up followed by rain so decided to make a quick exit, everyone had gone by then 5 fishing no fish.
The lads were saying that a local boat had it's nets 1/2mile out the other day and landed 15 boxes of codling.

unlucky mate i was thinking about going down me self but it was 2 windy for me, ya wanna get ya sell down on thurs if that wind drops off

I was expecting a canny night as there was a canny sea running.

Unlucky mate. i'm gonna give the spiles a bash for a couple of hours tonight and see if anything turns up.
